Hotpot Nights
Reserve a Hotpot booth for an interactive tableside feast!
Hotpot is a fun hands-on Chinese dining experience where you cook fresh meats and vegetables in flavorful broth at your table. Enjoy a sensory experience with a rainbow of colors, swirling steam, fragrant broth, and eating to your heart's content while drinking and laughing with friends.
On select nights, we offer 2 seatings (5:30pm and 7:30pm) with a limited number of tables available for groups of 2-5 guests each!
Email hi@upstatedaydreamers.com to reserve your table and we’ll confirm and send you a Google calendar invite to your slot.
You will leave full and happy, and it’s suitable for both adults and kids. We walk you through the steps, providing everything you need to relax and enjoy the meal.

Our hotpot is Sichuan-style, with the star of show being 'yerma' or Sichuan peppercorn. This tiny peppercorn has a magical effect: it makes your tongue tingle with a numbing sensation, and brings out the best savory flavors.

Your Hotpot booth includes:
BROTH - An induction burner with large divided two-sided pot containing a spicier traditional red broth and a non-spicy miso-mushroom broth (gf). The broths are both vegan, and they do not touch, so if some guests are vegetarian or gluten-free you can keep separate sides while still eating together.
Broths contain chilies, ginger, star anise, garlic, cinnamon, and black cardamom. The red broth's spice level is a solid medium, more of a smoky slow-build heat than a sharp sour bite. We describe the red broth as somewhere between "My eyebrows are sweating" and "Wow I'm actually handling this" but not at the level of "I can't take it anymore". Since spice is subjective and everyone's palate differs, we aim for a base level of heat that packs a punch but lets the ingredients shine. The mushroom-miso broth is a non-spicy gentle comforting umami.
INGREDIENTS - An ever-changing seasonal array of fresh vegetables, meats, noodles, and tofu. Our staff selects the ingredients and sources as much as possible from local farms. For example your tray may contain: beef, lamb, chicken, shrimp, pork, scallops, fish balls, mini dumplings, vermicelli, ribbon noodles, tofu, bok choi, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, mustard greens, spinach, cabbage.
SAUCE - Each guest receives a side sauce of sesame oil, raw garlic, seasoned salt, and green onions. Dip your cooked ingredients in the sauce for flavor enhancement and a cool down before it hits your rice bowl on its way to your mouth!
RICE - Each guest receives a bowl of fluffy steamed jeera rice.
TOOLS - Your hotpot comes with a strainer and tongs to help fish out the ingredients you cook, and your utensils are spoons, chopsticks, and forks.
EXTRAS - Additional servings of rice, sauce, meat, veg, noodles, tofu etc are all available for order, as well as shots of mouth-cooling raita or spice bombs to amp up the heat.
PAIRINGS - Pairs perfectly with an ice-cold IPA, a citrusy mezcal margarita, or a sparkling French 75. Order your drinks at the bar from Tubby's!
ALLERGIES & DIETARY RESTRICTIONS - If you have allergies or dietary restrictions please alert our team at the time of booking your reservation. Broths are both vegan. The red broth contains gluten and cannot be made gluten-free. The miso-mushroom broth is vegan and gluten-free.
TIPS - If you're worried about the spice level, take turns dipping between both sides of the broth to pace yourself. A cold beverage will refresh your palate! We don't recommend wearing white or dangly sleeves, since there's lots of reaching and dipping involved. Forks available if you aren't great with chopsticks. Come hungry!
