A QUEER FAMILY RETREAT
IN KINGSTON, NEW YORK.

Reconnect with nature & yourself

Visiting Upstate Daydreamers feels like a getaway to a dear friend’s country house where you can take a deep breath of fresh air, let go of your worries, and feel seen, accepted, and cared for.

Explore our 14 acres of lush forest and creeks, take a bubble bath in the clawfoot tub, soak in the jacuzzi, make a bonfire outside, grill out and watch the deer, foxes, and birds in nature.

On-site parking, excellent cell reception & wifi. Sleep in, take a break from screen time, eat well. Check out local shops, go hiking in the forests, and take a mountain drive to check out farms, breweries, and vineyards. We are happy to help you build an itinerary and make specific recommendations - especially for orchards and swimming holes!

The Cottage

The Cottage is inspired by 한옥 (hanok: traditional Korean farmhouses) and the earth-centric midcentury modern design of Russell Wright’s Manitoga. The exterior koi pond and fairy garden (currently in progress) are inspired by the work of landscape architect James Rose.

The Cottage is a private standalone home, with spacious King bedroom, large steamy tiled shower bathroom with skylight, and sunny kitchen plus dining nook. A solar lamplit path leads to the Cottage from the driveway, and a small porch connects to the stone path in the yard.

The Suite

A spacious three-room private suite for 1-3 guests, inspired by धर्मशाला (dharamshala: Himalayan rest-houses for spiritual pilgrims). Indoor fireplace, clawfoot soaking tub, piano, guitar, games & puzzles, and convo cards. Connect with each other and let go of the daily stressors. The vibe is cozy, quiet, safe, peaceful, and comfortable — unwind and make yourself at home!

Separate entrance on the first floor of the Cabin. Large bedroom with California King bed + Queen tatami upon request, and sliding glass doors onto porch. Bathroom with clawfoot soaking tub, lounge with fireplace, piano, and snack station kitchenette.
